Elevator Spare Parts Push Button COP LOP Panel Control Button For Lift Parts
Basic button structure
Panel
Elevator buttons are installed on the panel, which is usually made
of plastic or metal. Plastic panels are more common because they
are of lower cost and easier to process and install. Metal panels
look more upscale and are often used in some high-end office
buildings, hotels and other places. The main functions of the panel
are to fix the buttons, provide a flat installation surface for the
buttons, and also play a certain protective role, preventing dust,
moisture and other substances from directly contacting the
electronic components inside the buttons.
Button Body
Keycap: This is the outermost part of the button that people
directly press with their fingers. Keycaps are usually round or
square, with a certain curvature on the surface to conform to
ergonomics and make it convenient for users to press. They can be
made of materials such as plastic or rubber. Plastic keycaps are
relatively hard in texture and have a shiny appearance; rubber
keycaps feel soft and elastic, providing a better tactile sensation
when pressed. The keycaps are usually marked with floor numbers,
letters (used for special functions, such as "B" for basement) or
symbols (such as open/close door symbols). These markings are
either printed on the surface of the keycap by printing technology
or fixed on the keycap by inlaying a sheet with the markings.
Button Housing: Located beneath the keycap, it is used to wrap and
protect the internal mechanical or electronic components. It is
generally made of hard plastic, with a shape and size that match
the keycap. The design of the housing should ensure that the
internal components will not be damaged during normal pressing and
can provide stable support, enabling the button to maintain good
performance during long-term use.
Trigger Mechanism
Mechanical Trigger:
There is a mechanical switch inside this type of elevator button.
When the keycap is pressed, the keycap will push a mechanical
connecting rod or plunger, causing the mechanical switch to close
and thus generating an electrical signal. The mechanical switch is
usually a microswitch, which is characterized by being small and
sensitive. Inside the microswitch, there is an elastic metal sheet.
When subjected to an external force, the metal sheet will deform
and come into contact with another contact point, realizing the
conduction of the circuit. The advantages of mechanical trigger
buttons are simple structure, high reliability, and obvious tactile
feedback when pressed, allowing users to know that the button has
been pressed.
Capacitive Trigger:
Capacitive elevator buttons do not have a mechanical triggering
part. They work by utilizing the capacitance characteristics of the
human body. When a finger approaches or touches the keycap, the
capacitance value between the human body and the capacitance
sensing electrode inside the button will change. After the circuit
inside the button detects this capacitance change, it will generate
a triggering signal. The advantages of capacitive buttons are that
their appearance can be made more beautiful. Since there are no
mechanical parts, the keycap can be made very thin, and they have a
long service life without being damaged due to mechanical wear.
However, their disadvantages are that they are sensitive to
environmental factors (such as humidity, static electricity, etc.),
and in some cases, mis-triggering may occur.
Circuitry
The circuitry part of the elevator button mainly includes signal
transmission lines and control chips. When the triggering mechanism
generates a signal, the signal will be transmitted to the control
chip through the lines on the printed circuit board (PCB). The
control chip processes the signal and converts it into an
instruction that the elevator control system can recognize, for
example, telling the elevator which floor to go to. The printed
circuit board is the carrier of the entire circuit, on which there
are various electronic components such as resistors, capacitors,
integrated circuits, etc. These components work together to ensure
the stable transmission and correct processing of the signal.
Indicator Light
Most elevator buttons are equipped with indicator lights. When the
button is pressed, the indicator light will light up, showing the
users that their operation has been received. The indicator lights
are usually light-emitting diodes (LEDs) because LEDs have the
advantages of high brightness, low energy consumption and long
service life. The colors of the indicator lights can be various,
with common ones being red, green or white. Red is generally used
to represent stop, fault and other states; green is used to
represent normal operation, running and other states; white is more
used for decoration or providing basic visual hints. The position
of the indicator light is usually in the center or around the
button, and through the transparent or semi-transparent part of the
keycap, users can clearly see the state of the indicator light.
